First Vietnamese evening Sunday service in Kota Kemuning
The Vietnamese christian community around Kota Kemuning has
hitherto been holding weekly evening services on Wednesday nights between 10.00-10.30 pm. Due to the lateness of the hour, many of the faithful were unable to attend.
The Kota Kemuning migrant ministry (a partnership of 3 churches : AoG Kota Kemuning, New Llife Restoration Centre and Acts Generation Church) came together to offer the Vietnamese community a venue for their weekly service on Sunday nights from 8.00 to 9.30 pm beginning end February.
With it’s experience with the Vietnamese refugee community. MMK has stepped in to facilitate the initiation of these services.
Once the supporting churches are comfortable with the Vietnamese services (and vice-versa), MMK will step back and allow both parties to continue building their relationships locally.
This is part of MMK’s strategy to be the catalyst in putting together local churches with local refugee communities; allowing the relationships to blossom and then withdraw to propogate the same model elsewhere – while at the same time providing support and services as required to the budding partnerships.
